HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A MEMBER OF HEALTH MATES?

I’ve been a member of Health Mates since April 2017

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO JOIN H EALTH MATES?

I was first inspired to join He alth Mates wit h my wife, although I know within myself I needed to get fit and active as I felt I physically and mentally needed to change. I was overweight and

had high blood pressure which was effecting my general health and outlook on life.

WHAT HAVE YOU PARTICIPATED IN AT HEALTH MATES?

When I first started I took advantage of the free programming that Health Mates had to offer and combined it with my own cardio training. The staff have been extremely encouraging, which has helped motivate me towards achieving my goals. A big thanks to Amber and Steph in particular, w ho helped me with my programs and to make use of the free weight and cardio sections of the gym.

WHAT HAVE YOU ACHIEVED SO FAR, AND HOW HAS IT CHANGED YOUR LIFE?

In 4 months I lost 14kg and got my blood pressure back to nor mal, which has been a m assive shift for me. I am able to do things, the little things, like putting on my socks without a struggle. Now I train and really look forward to coming to the gym because it makes me feel good on all levels. This has had a huge positive impact on my life, general health and well being.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE FUT URE?

My goals for the fut u re are to keep training consistently 4-5 days per week so I can further work on my strength. My focus now is in building muscle. I will a lso continue to eat well and combined with my training and help from the staff with programming I am very positive about where I am heading for the future wi th my health.

WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE SOMEONE WHO IS IN A SIMILAR POSITION AS YOU WERE?

My advice is to take a step, a small step in the right direction. Each and every day is a positive one, because these little steps all add up to a big step in the end; achieving your goals.
