High Intensity Interval Training

High Intensity Interval Training, or HIIT, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time. These short, intense workouts provide improved fitness, glucose metabolism and ability to burn fat.

What is a Master Blast | Cardio HIIT class about?

These classes will blast your body without blowing your mind? Think indoor Boot Camp and Circuit blended together into a highly motivating no frills fun workout. These classes are rated as moderate to high intensity, with no need for coordination. New comers are welcome, however, encouraged to work at their own pace until their fitness increases. Master Blast runs for 60 minutes and includes an ab workout and stretch at the end. Cardio HIIT is a solid 30 minute interval blast, including a brief stretch to finish.

What will I do in a Master Blast | Cardio HIIT class?

Your instructor will create a series of exercises, often utilising your own body weight, for you to complete. You will work through these exercises either based on time (eg. 30 seconds) or repetitions (eg. 20 repetitions of each).

Keeping in mind the goal is to challenge you, exercises will generally be alternated between body parts (eg. box jumps for lower body/cardio and push-ups for upper body) or tough alternated with moderate exercises (eg. sprints and dips).

Your instructor will be there all the way to monitor your technique and give you that extra nudge just when you need it.
