Have you ever thought about getting into jogging or walking on a regular basis and found yourself bored within 5 minutes of starting?

Many of you may consider exercise tedious, but if you have a love of music, combining the two may be just what you need to kick-start or reignite your love for exercise as well.

With music being so portable these days there’s no excuse not to load up your favourite tunes and get yourself moving.

In many cases, listening to music while exercising can delay, and or lessen the perceived level of fatigue. It has the ability to lift your mood and often improve your physical capacity to work out as a result.

The beat of a song encourages you to move to that rhythm, so yo may find yourself maintaining or increasing your pace more so than if you were not listening to music. In other cases, music can slow you down and allow you time to re-boot your mind and body.

We often hear from our members that one of the key ingredients to a great exercise or cycle class is the catchy music. Music has the ability to engage, motivate and inspire you to keep going, or go a little harder when needed.

If you’re after the opposite effect, a Pilates or Unwind class, with its calming collection of relaxing tunes, may tick the right boxes for you.

If you’re one of those who have to drag themselves off the couch to start exercising, consider trying a class. The addition of music, not to forget the guidance and motivation of your instructor, makes the time fly, and certainly removes any chance of being bored.
