Zoe Kassianou feels healthy after losing 8 kilos

How long have you been a member of Health Mates?

Since October 2015, so about 5 months.

What inspired you to join Health Mates?

I just knew that I wanted to loose weight and become fitter and live a healthier life and I thought the best way to start that journey was to sign up.

What have you been participating in?

I have been doing personal training for about 4 months with the best trainer ever, Steph! She has helped me to get to where I am today.

What have you achieved so far?

I have lost around 8 kilos and feel more fit and healthy. I feel like a different person seeing the changes in my body shape as well as living a healthier lifestyle. This has changed my life for the best; I have started to feel more confident in my own skin and healthier and stronger than I ever have before. Losing weight has been something I have wanted to do for a while. It has been a long journey for me and I am half way to where I want to be. I feel so much more confident in myself then before and that was my main issue that I wanted to overcome, I am not quite there yet but I have much more selfconfidence then 5 months ago.

What are your goals for the future?

My goal for the end of this year is to finish my final year of school in the healthiest, fittest version of myself I can possibly be. I want to reach my goal weight, and I am half way there. I want to start the next chapter of my life in the best way possible  for myself. My long-term goal for my future is to become a Secondary PDHPE teacher. I want to go to university next year and do something that I am going to love to do for the rest of my life, which is teaching and doing a Sports Medicine degree.

What advice can you give someone else who is in a similar position to you?

The number one advice that I could give someone is to never give up on something that you really want, for me it was to lose weight. A lot of people give up because they don’t see immediate results; I was one of those people. I always used to give up after a week because I felt like nothing was happening. If you’re tired of starting over then just stop giving up. Nothing happens over night, but if you want it to happen just do it for yourself. The time will pass really quickly, you wont even notice. It is going to be a hard, long journey, but that does not mean that it is impossible. Nothing gets easier trust me, it just gets better.

There is no guarantee that physical exercise will achieve specific outcomes. Results will vary depending on personal commitment, genetics, nutrition and lifestyle factors.
