When did you start training at Health Mates?
I joined Health Mates late August 2013.
What inspired you to join Health Mates?
Towards the middle of last year, I quit my job and started putting on weight to the point where my clothing was getting a little too tight. I decided that instead of buying a bigger size, I was going to do something about my health and fitness. I now have to buy new clothes, but that’s because I’m 4 sizes smaller!
What services have you utilised since joining Health Mates and have they helped?
From day one I’ve had cardio and weights programs prescribed by the brilliant trainers at Health Mates. With each program the trainers will go through which cardio and weights they recommend that you use to achieve your goals and most importantly, how to use them, so you’re using the correct technique and form.
What have you achieved with your training so far and how has this affected you?
I’ve managed to lose 20kgs in 5 months! In addition, my strength and fitness levels are the best they’ve ever been. This has definitely given me more confidence in myself and proven that I can do anything if I’m determined, persistent and willing to give it everything I’ve got!
What are your goals going forward from now?
I’d like to get my body fat percentage down to around 24-25% and increase my muscle mass.
What advice would you give to someone wishing to embark on the same journey you are on?
Getting your health and fitness in order is the best gift you can every give to yourself because no-one else can do it for you. There’s a lot of hard work and sweat involved, but it’s all worth it! There’s only one regret that you’ll have… that you didn’t do this sooner!
