Member of the Month – Cathie Watson

How long have you been a member of Health Mates?

I have been a member of Health Mates for nearly 2 years

What inspired you to join Health Mates?

My daughter and I were keen to try a new gym & Health Mates looked fresh/clean with lots of equipment and friendly staff.

What have you participated in at Health Mates?

Mostly Small Group Personal Training sessions with Liam. However I also participated in Health Mates ‘Weight Loss Challenge’ which incorporated Bootcamp sessions, as well as various other challenges Health Mates has run.
I also enjoy getting my programs written by Liam and learning a variety of exercises and using of different machines.

What have you achieved so far and how has it changed your life?

I now have a lot more strength; muscle tone and improved stamina. Specifically I am not getting as many Migraines which were very debilitating.

I feel confident, and feel that I could tackle most ‘challenges’ in life.

What are your goals for the future?

I would like to keep working hard with our regular group of ladies ‘The Chooks’ – I mean ‘The Spring Chickens’ who inspire me to ‘dig deep’ and keep going,

especially when our trainer Liam does the dreaded countdown (which makes sense only to a trainer?!).

What advice can you give someone else who is looking to embark on the same journey?

If you want change, do it! YOU are the one that can make it happen, DON’T rely on others for your motivation, participation or lack thereof. Be willing to believe in your trainer who has the knowledge to ‘help and guide you’.

A word from Liam:

Congratulations Cathie for being member of the month. Your determination and commitment to training over the last two years
has allowed you to achieve a great level of fitness today. It was really exciting to see you participate in the ‘City to Surf’ which I look forward to joining you

in this year. I want to thank you for giving 100% effort over the last couple of years and continuously putting up with me asking you to do burpees! It’s been a pleasure training you and I look forward to doing it all over again this year.
